The European RISERS project – A Roadmap for Industrial Symbiosis Standardisation for Efficient Resource Sharing – explored how standardisation can help address these challenges and support the wider uptake of industrial symbiosis.
The webinar will:
- introduce the RISERS project, its objectives and why its work matters for industrial symbiosis,
- explain why common approaches and standardisation are important for wider implementation of industrial symbiosis,
- present the process used to develop the RISERS Industrial Symbiosis Standardisation Roadmap, including analysis of industrial symbiosis cases and priority synergies, existing standards and Technical Committees, R&I evidence, and policy and regulatory conditions,
- present the RISERS Industrial Symbiosis Standardisation Roadmap, including the main horizontal, sector-specific and system-level standardisation needs identified and the proposed directions for future action,
- highlight the roles of standardisation organisations, industry, research and innovation actors, and policymakers in taking the Roadmap forward.
