EDU4Standards.eu, is a research project funded by the European Union. It aims to innovate standardisation education within European Higher Education Institutes, making progress in 2024. The year saw the project solidify its role for the development of educational resources and knowledge exchange within the field of standardisation. Here’s an overview of the milestones achieved.
Key Achievements in 2024
Successful Events and Strong Engagement:
In 2024, EDU4Standards.eu hosted 3 events, bringing together over 200 participants. The consortium also attended other 7 events across Europe. These gatherings ranged from webinars to interactive workshops and high-profile conferences, all focused on advancing the conversation around standardisation. Notably, EDU4Standards.eu reached wide audiences at significant events, including EURAS, the UNECE WP6, and the prestigious DIN Conference, where it engaged thought leaders and stakeholders in discussions about standardisation in education.
Expanding Social Media Presence
The initiative also made strides in expanding its online presence. Through consistent activity on platforms such as LinkedIn and X (previously Twitter), EDU4Standards.eu shared more than 60 posts throughout the year, raising awareness on key topics related to standardisation. The posts reached an engaged following of over 500 followers, making the network of professionals interested in the standardisation field bigger.
Publications and Knowledge Sharing
A part of EDU4Standards.eu’s efforts in 2024 centred around the publication of educational materials. The organisation released over 10 publications on Zenodo, including the ILOs (International Learning Outcomes) framework for standardisation education.
Additionally, seven newsletters were issued throughout the year, keeping the community informed and up-to-date on the latest news, developments, and opportunities in standardisation.
Collaborations
EDU4Standards.eu strengthened its ties with key players in the standardisation such as DIN Young Professionals, HSbooster.eu, SEEBLOCKS.eu, and StandICT.eu. These synergies allowed the EDU4Standards project to share teaching repositories with resources, tools, and materials that will support the implementation of standardisation professionals across Europe.
Looking Ahead to 2025
With its achievements in 2024, EDU4Standards.eu is now setting its sights on an even more ambitious 2025 rolling out of additional webinars, workshops, conferences, Academic Standard Days and educational materials aimed at further supporting the future of standardisation in Europe.
As the need for quality education in standardisation grows, EDU4Standards.eu remains committed to its mission of enhancing knowledge, promoting collaboration, and driving the future of standardisation education across Europe.
