EDU4Standards: Green & Digital modules - webinar series

The Twin Transition is the strategy promoted by the European Union that combines the green transition and digital transformation, considering them as two processes that go hand in hand. On the one hand, environmental sustainability cannot be achieved without the use of advanced technologies; on the other hand, digitalisation itself must evolve while also considering its own environmental impact.

Do you think you have the skills and information needed to lead the Green and Digital Transition?

To help understand the changes sweeping through the world of technology, EDU4Standards is running a webinar series focused on the crucial role of standards, addressing various topics related to future sustainability: Green & Digital Modules webinar series

The journey has already begun, kicking off on 28th April with a first session dedicated to how standards help drive the emergence of new green technologies.
Following this, the second webinar, held on 26th May, explored issues surrounding privacy and data protection in the future of European engineering.

Furthermore, a thematic digital slide pack has also been published, providing a comprehensive overview of the role of standards in engineering, with a specific focus on environmental sustainability.

The next two webinars in the programme will be coming up shortly, diving deeper into regulatory aspects and digital sovereignty. The third webinar will take place on 8th June and will cover the vital contribution of the ISO 14001 standard in supporting companies to identify and manage their environmental impacts, without compromising overall performance.

The fourth webinar, scheduled for 15th June, will instead tackle the theme of digital sovereignty applied to software, discovering how ICT standards and the Open Source movement are essential to ensure true interoperability and full control over digitally stored information.

Finally, the series will conclude with the last three webinars.
The fifth, scheduled for 29th June, will focus on the use of standards to achieve an efficient bioeconomy through Green certification schemes.

This will be followed by the sixth webinar, which will analyse the impact of standardisation on our society, while the seventh and final session will delve into the topic of industrial symbiosis made possible by standards.
