STS Conference: 6-8 May 2024, Graz

The 22nd Annual STS Conference Graz 2024 „Critical Issues in Science, Technology and Society Studies“ is the joint Annual Conference of the Science Technology and Society Unit of the Institute of Interactive Systems and Data Science of Graz University of Technology, the Inter-University Research Centre for Technology, Work and Culture (IFZ) and the Institute for Advanced Studies of Science, Technology and Society (IAS-STS).


On May 6-8 May 2024, Edu4Standards will present its first preliminary results in the Science Technology and Society Unit Conference in Graz. The project's results will be disseminated during a session dedicated to standards and standardisation, chaired by the long standing member of academic group in standardisation research, Dr. Kai Jakobs.

The session is titled "B.3: (Responsible) Standardisation of Disruptive Digital Technologies", and will take place on Tuesday, the 7th of May. Edu4Standards will showcase a presentation titled " It's not only about technology! Educating future standards professionals", written and elaborated by Vladislav Fomin, Elisabeth Staudegger, Hristina Veljanova, Kestutis Mosakas, Oksana Kuzmuk, David Bierbauer, Rimvydas Laužikas, Barbara Reiter.

In addition to this first presentation, this session will also host a presentation made by our project coordinator, Knut Blond from Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, titled "The knowledge-action gap in standardization in the combat against climate change". Authors: Luzie Kromer, Knut Blind. Philipp Heß.
