The Chair of Innovation Economics at the Institute of Technology and Management of the Faculty of Business and Management of the Technische Universität (TU) Berlin was established in 2006 together with the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research (ISI), Karlsruhe. Between 2010 and 2019, the chair holder Prof Dr Knut Blind moved to the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems (FOKUS). Since October 2019, he has returned to the Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research, where he is responsible for the Innovation and Regulation business unit. The mission of the Chair is to foster responsible innovation research towards the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. We perform excellent and independent research, which is disseminated within the global scientific community, among policy makers, business representatives and civil society. Our inter- and transdisciplinary team contributes to the knowledge base and education in the field of innovation research, management and public policy. Our chair is an open platform connecting international researchers, students and practitioners.


Role in the project:

The Chair of Innovation Economics at the TU Berlin with its long term experience in
teaching about standardisation is responsible for conducting a pilot of a Master Course on
Standardisation under the roof of the Berlin University Alliance.
