Call for Papers: EURAS 2026 Conference to Explore "Values in Standards"

How do we ensure that emerging technologies and global standards consistently reflect human-centred values and inclusiveness?

To address this pressing challenge, the European Academy for Standardisation (EURAS) and the University of Graz are inviting researchers, standardisation practitioners, and educators to submit their contributions for the upcoming EURAS 2026 Conference.

The Strategic Role of Standards
Themed "Values in Standards," this year's conference arrives at a pivotal moment. Standards have evolved beyond technical specifications; they are now vital instruments for safeguarding the European Union’s core values, driving the objectives of the Green Deal, and ensuring the long-term resilience of the Single Market.

As the global geopolitical landscape rapidly shifts, establishing a strategic, inclusive approach to international standardisation is more critical than ever. This is particularly urgent in the realm of emerging and disruptive technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence, where standards will dictate future ethical and operational boundaries.

Call for Contributions
Against this dynamic background, EURAS 2026 is actively soliciting academic and practical papers focused on the core theme of human and European values in standardisation. Submissions exploring other relevant standardisation topics are also highly welcomed and will be fully considered by the committee.

This presents an excellent opportunity for the EDU4Standards community to contribute to the academic and practical discourse that will shape the future of global tech governance and education.
