The event took place online on June 15, 2026.
Abstract:
The digital transition has accelerated in recent years and this includes achieving secure and sustainable digital infrastructures and services through use of different software solutions.
ICT standards and their implementation by sustainable software projects can effectively address lock-in challenges, and also achieve interoperability and long life-cycles for IT systems. In particular, Free and Open Source Software, often referred to as FOSS, can contribute to avoidance of lock-in effects, and promotion of interoperable and long-term sustainable IT systems.
FOSS implementing ICT standards can also contribute to digitally sovereign IT systems and cloud services, which has become increasingly important in a world dominated by big-tech, hyperscalers and geopolitics.
This webinar explores these aspects with an aim to discuss how to achieve digitally sovereign and interoperable software solutions.
