The second ASD took place in Madrid and was organized as two half days between the Spanish NSB, UNE and Politécnica de Madrid. The first day targeted the students, and the second day targeted the professors, both taking place at
the Politécnica de Madrid.
During the first day panels introduced students to the necessary background knowledge that would allow them to take full advantage of the game café that was set up. The café offered lunch and interactive games that students could explore with their classmates, with the support of the organizers. The split between professors and students gave room for peer-to-peer discussions and experience-sharing among teachers on the second day, which was highly appreciated.
What worked well: Game session was an opportunity for students to explore first-hand what standardisation means, involvement of students’ association in the organisation, raffle for book vouchers at the end of the student event.
Recommendations: Time the event well in accordance with the academic calendar and other activities on campus, highlight for the students what they will gain from the event.
