SLOVENIAN INSTITUTE FOR STANDARDIZATION INVITES YOU TO THE 3rd AUTUMN SCHOOL OF STANDARDISATION

Standards have always been a synonym for quality. When something is made in accordance with a standard, we trust that it is reliable, efficient, and safe to use. Yet we rarely ask ourselves how this quality, efficiency, and safety are achieved — and who ensures them on our behalf.

The Slovenian Institute for Standardization (SIST) is the national body responsible for developing and adopting voluntary standardization documents and representing Slovenia’s interests in international (ISO, IEC) and European (CEN, CENELEC, ETSI) organizations, where it is a full member.
SIST’s core activities include standardization, acting as a contact point, the SME Committee, education and seminars, sales of standards, and publishing.

All this — our mission, work, and role within the national, European, and international framework — will be presented at this year’s Autumn School of Standardization, taking place 12–14 November 2025 at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana.
A special feature of this year’s event is the student hackathon, organized in cooperation with the student association EESTEC. Students will work in teams to prepare a proposal for a national standard on a topic defined by participating companies. The best teams will receive symbolic financial prizes, and the winners will have the opportunity to become Young Ambassadors of
Standardization for 2026.

The event will also be an excellent opportunity to meet representatives from NLB, Telekom Slovenije, MESI, Renishaw, Petrol, ETI, and DEWESoft, who will share how standards are integrated into their processes and competitiveness. It will provide a great space for networking, exchanging ideas, and deepening understanding of standardization in practice.
The Autumn School of Standardization 2025 is not just an event — it’s a holistic experience connecting theory, practice, innovation, and cooperation with industry.
