Vilnius University, the largest and oldest Lithuanian scientific institution, has deservedly earned the status of a leader in science and research. European university traditions, academic freedom and diversity of opinion, the ability to deal with new challenges in the constantly changing world, and social responsibility are the fundamental values of the University. Vilnius University is Lithuania’s leading academic institution, ranked among the top 500 universities worldwide (QS). Established in 1579, the University comprises 13 faculties, 1 institute, 2 university hospitals, the oldest library in Lithuania, the Astronomical Observatory, the Botanical Garden, and the Church of St. Johns. The student body of the University includes approximately 18,500 students. Kaunas Faculty is interdisciplinary, i.e. it encompasses study programmes from four different groups of study fields: Humanities, Business and Public Administration, Social Sciences and Computing. The Faculty organises consistent studies in all three levels (Bachelor, Master and PhD). The Faculty has a base of 800 students. The faculty conducts interdisciplinary scientific research, organizes international conferences, publishes scientific journals, and actively participates in diverse study and research projects.
Vilnius University leads the WP2, that is aimed to design teaching concepts in standardization (ITCoS).
The faculty also leads the Task 2.2, to identify and categorise relevant existing content and methods.
Furthermore the Task 2.2 will identify relevant topics, teaching methods, and content of standardisation education, as well as best practices related to topics, learning environment and teaching methods within different venues of professional engagement: pre- normative standardisation, formal and consortia standards development, policy development and safeguarding of EU core values.
