Standards 4 Future Skills - Hack your way into the industry

The event will be positioned as inclusive and interdisciplinary, welcoming students from different academic backgrounds.

Strengthening standardization cooperation with academia and educational institutions at national level, pursuing the development and support of standardization programs at all levels of education, and including the contribution of academia, research and technology in the standards development process will create new links between standardization and academia and, last but not least, opportunities for the development of new standardization services and career paths adapted to the current economy for students.
Promoting existing studies and developing new studies for universities, to demonstrate to organizations, industries, the public and private sectors, academia and society the economic and social advantages of European, international and national standards will be a big step forward for the national standardization.

The ASD event will use a diverse range of engagement methods designed to keep students actively involved, promote interaction, and balance theoretical and practical learning throughout the day:
● Presentations with Q&A sessions – speakers from academia and industry will share insights, followed by interactive discussions to clarify concepts and encourage student participation.
● Case studies and practical exercises – real-world scenarios presented by industry representatives will allow students to apply theoretical knowledge and develop problem-solving skills.
● World Café / interactive workshops – student groups will work collaboratively, each moderated by a professor, standardization expert or business representative, to discuss topics, generate ideas, and share findings.
● Mini business expo – simple company stands will showcase career opportunities, internships, and projects, allowing students to interact directly with industry representatives.
● Quizzes, polls, and gamified activities – digital or live tools will be used to maintain engagement, test knowledge, and create a fun, interactive atmosphere. We will use the DIN game “the world of standardization” into the interactive part with
the students, allowing the students to practice skills like consensus building and negotiation.
● Videos and multimedia content – short, visually appealing presentations will be used to illustrate concepts, highlight case studies, and introduce companies or projects.
This combination of methods ensures that students remain actively engaged, gain practical insights, and have multiple opportunities to interact with speakers, peers, and industry representatives.
